This is a great service, it saves everyone time and money and I am really tired of the thugs in the corporate world denying free market enterprise. I cancelled all my subscriptions to AT&T because of their nastiness years ago, and I write on all of my bills being paid DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH AT&T, I have done that for years. We truly need another anti monopoly investigation into AT&T they appear to forget why then ended up smaller....
Alice Jensen - May, 9, 2007 - 01:26
I believe that blocking is wrong and the FCC should put a stop to this.
Barbara Shannon-Banister - May, 9, 2007 - 01:26
I think this is a great service. I am the president of a non profit. When the weather will not permit safe travel to a board meeting, we use your service to conference with our board members. I am also planning a national HS reunion in Denver in July and have a national committee. We will use the service each month to connect with our national committee members. I am a subscriber of Cingular call and will call them and complain, and may switch. I guess you can only talk to one family member/subscriber at a time...since they said the calls are between one person to another. Thanks for trying to be of service to the public.
Ron Mueller - May, 9, 2007 - 01:26
Unlike you, not everyone was aware of the problem. I have been blasted with emails from callers who were unable to get in, and I had no answers for them. How about giving us a "heads up" when things like this are happening, instead of just an (much appreciated) explaination much later?
Erika Lewis - May, 9, 2007 - 01:27
I'm still interested in maintaining this conference call # through it's expiration date this summer. Thanks for the resource as I explore the options as a greener home-based business entrepenuer.
tyvonne - May, 9, 2007 - 01:27
So much for free enterprise ! Fortunately I don't have an account with either of these offenders but this is typical of greed driven corporations which will stoop to any lengths to capture control of the market. Keep up the good work folks - your service is great !
Ron - May, 9, 2007 - 01:28
This is unbelieveable that these companies can do this! What has happened to American free enterprise? Many people even in large corporations are operating almost exclusively on their cell phones. I love your service and have used it for years. I will join the class action suit, but I want to know what FreeConferenceCall.com is specificially doing about this. Are you filing formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission? Lobbing Congress? Filing law suits? What? Thanks!
Karen - May, 9, 2007 - 01:28
Unfortunate that some of us have contracts with these companies or we could switch services. Seems that "Nation-wide calling" means I can call any number I want. Wouldn't it be fraudulant advertising on their part if they won't let me call a number I wish to call?
Pooja - May, 9, 2007 - 01:28
Thank you for keeping us updated. US cell phone providers are very frustrating companies to work with at all times and this is just another case in point.
Nickie - May, 9, 2007 - 01:28
Alltel is blocking calls too. I haven't checked why yet.
Roger - May, 9, 2007 - 01:30
Absolutely rediculous! This is a good reason to drop AT&T/Cingular, Sprint and switch to Verizon. ( I don't work for Verizon ) Good old competition will solve this faster than legal action. Love your service.
Suzi - May, 9, 2007 - 01:30
I wondered why I couldn't join in on my own conference call! I work from home and did away w/ my land line years ago. I've had Cingular for my only cell provider and never considered switching - until now.
Connie Weiss - May, 9, 2007 - 01:31
FYI When I tried with my Verizon land line to get into a March 20 conf call (number 563 843-5600, access 1011698#) for Claritas institute, at 5:30 pacific time & for 20 min thereafter I kept getting the message that the lines were full. Thank goodness, when I tried with my T-mobile cell I DID get in. Thanks for problem solving this issue.(I'm so glad I didn't switch to Cingular when I considered it a while back.)
Yahseek Yisrael - May, 9, 2007 - 01:31
Thank you for keeping us informed on the status of this. Several of my staff were unable to dial in for a staff meeting we were having last week. It is only now that I realize the reason. I would propose to everyone who takes the time to make a comment, to also return to the previous page and click on the "class action" button. It's time to stop the monopolistic suppression of Free Enterprise. A start would be to support freeconferencecall.com not because there is personal or financial gain to be had but because the reality is that our small businesses could (and probably will) be next. This will impact owners and employees alike. Let your voices be heard whether it is through class action, telling a friend (local boycot), not subscribing to the services of AT&T/Cingular, or contacting your local legislature to let them know we are paying attention. And No, I don't work for freeconferencecall.com. This big business thing has just gone too damned far on EVERY LEVEL! DO SOMETHING!
Ed Mitchell - May, 9, 2007 - 01:31
I just tried my old conf # and it's working again....Thanks...it is a 712 #
Barry Hall - May, 9, 2007 - 01:31
This is but another reason to leave Cingular/ATT and go back to Verizon. It was a huge mistake to change carriers since Cingular's "dropped calls" far exceed anything I ever experienced with Verizon.
Tonya Williamson - May, 9, 2007 - 01:32
Thanks for the info. I'm glad to know that I can call tec support, however, I have a concern. I've called TS a number of times for help and EVERY time, the people are short, curt, and somewhat rude. I've remained pleasant and assumed that they were overworked. I would like to feel welcomed and valued rather than like a nuisance when I have a problem with FCC.com services.
Joyce Solomon - May, 9, 2007 - 01:32
I am unable to dial your conference call # from my cell phone and also from my home. It seems as if Comcast has also blocked your number from being dialed. Here is my conference call # 563-843-5600. I attempted to join a conference call on Monday 3/26/2007 and was unable to call in from my Sprint Cell phone and my home phone. I use the comcast network at home.
Ed Jerome - May, 9, 2007 - 01:32
What an awesome tool for my work as a Principal and consultant. Thank you very much.
Una Doyle - May, 9, 2007 - 01:32
I'm calling from the UK and usually use www.1899.com for my US calls from a landline at 1p a minute - they are not letting me call your numbers for this rate...
Jill Ryan - May, 9, 2007 - 01:32
I have Sprint Service for THREE phones. I pay my bill on time, have continued to renew my contract, and I want to know WHY should YOU care how I use my minutes--as long as they are paid for. I have an important call that I want to be a part of and I cannot get thru using my cell phone . I resent this lock on MY minutes that I am PAYING FOR. I want this action stopped. Jill Ryan
S Shirk - May, 9, 2007 - 01:33
Sprint, Nextel and others are jumping on this wagon, too. Even some land lines. It is not right. Keep on exploring your options.
molly - May, 9, 2007 - 01:33
well, I had 2 conf calls scheduled tonight at 8:30 & 9pm and for 45 minutes got "your call cannot be completed at this time." I was using Sprint, calling 563-843-5600 and a 712 area number. I called sprint operator and they told me "all circuits were busy"... I doubt it! Land line worked fine, but I'd missed most of the call by the time I could get home!! btw... I called your support # (877-482-5838) and was dumped into an automated system. Is your support available nights & weekends?
Lennard McNeil - May, 9, 2007 - 01:33
forgot my number and my pin# could you e-mail it to me
Marie McKinney - May, 9, 2007 - 01:33
It's ridiculous that Cingular At&T should block free conference call It can only be a ploy to charge for the same services.. I'm distressed because I just started using Cingular Stop being ridiulous Cingular!!!

Free Conference Call has been extremely helpful to at elast two NPOs that I am affiliated with. In exchange we have forwarded information on your paid services to members and to others. Thank you very much. THEQ
stephen A. Silverman - May, 9, 2007 - 01:34
So far I have not had a problem - but may usually be using a land line or Verizon. Is the "blocking" applying to the toll free numbers or to all of FreeConferenceCall.com numbers.
Michelle Thibodeaux - May, 9, 2007 - 01:34
Thanks for your support! What can I do to help?
Terry Porter - May, 9, 2007 - 01:35
I use your services all the time doing very big business (Motion Pictures) Did you know that the FCC Regulation back when (Regan days) a company could only own 7 TV/7 Radio/7 Newspapers (Called the 777 Rule) Now anyone can own as much as they want to. This rule could stop this blocking if in effect today. Lines are used for other companys and not charged, why yours is being blocked is beyond me. If everyone sent in just $5.00 for your Legal Fund that uses your services (this can make a difference) TP
Tyler J - May, 9, 2007 - 01:35
When you stop paying your bill they really show their colors. I can't stsand the fact that I have become so dependent on this technology. I'm dropping ATT
Jim Griffin - May, 9, 2007 - 01:36
I love your service and am not surprised that the execs at Cingular and other phone services would try to impede your right to exist. I worked in Washington in both the US Senate and White House and that's the way the game is played. Keep your chin(s) up; don't give in ; AND, maybe, find yourself a person qualified to convey/represent your concerns to Congress, the White House, the US Chamber and the FCC. I could do it (ran federal/state Govt Relns for GE Capital and one of the Hartford based insurance companies after leaving Washington. But I also know of others, as well. I just wouldn't be as expensive. Strategy: I'm sure your good service has won the support of the major potion of the American population/people. By capitalizing on that sentiment correctly, you can get your jealous corporate foes to back off and back down. Good Luck -- Call if you'd like to chat to discuss strategy and relevant issues. Sincerely, Jim Griffin 860-584-2099 860-250-4225 cell Hartford, CT

This is absolutely ridiculous; I thought I've heard it all. What can we do to prevent stupid regulation like this? As if Cell phone services do not make enough as it is? Wow. Please advise--know you've got many many followers.

I've been unable to get on our business conference calls for Sales Directors and the call we provide our consultants (past two weeks). This is impacting my business...and the ONLY land line service we can get in my area is via Sprint. I have tried other services in the past for cellular service, ie: cingular, but cannot receive good reception in my home so switched to Sprint. Sure do hope someone 'fixes' the problem...and please let us know what steps we should be taking. Seems unfair that some cellular services are blocking these numbers while others are not. Thanks for your input to those of us who are experiencing this connection problem.
Linda Bemis - May, 9, 2007 - 01:37
We also had some problems with some of our callers trying to get onto our conference call last week. Everyone needs to complain to Cingular, so that they will understand that this is NOT right. Thanks for alerting us to this issue.
Julian - May, 9, 2007 - 01:37
Who's going to take the lead and organize some change?
Sean Scott - May, 9, 2007 - 01:37
The ability to conference call with my mobile while on the road is a huge part of my small business. My Cingular service has been good but I will readily change carriers if it allows me to conference call with my mobile.

Just to let you know the following: In the last year I did not use your services; BUT in PREVIOUS THAT I USED, I HAVE TO SAY THAT ARE a GREAT SERVICE, a GREAT SUPPORT when I had have to manage business or family questions. I endorse your services 100%. I always found reliability, honestly... and good support, every time I need it from your company. Go Ahead!! do wathever you need to do, in order to not let be swallow for the big companies, that every day try to found always the way to control mass people.
Paula Bobb - April, 1, 2007 - 11:24
thank you for addressing this. I had heard about these problems from someone else so it is good to know that you are on top of things and pursuing this matter. I didn't have any problems on my (one and only) conference call but one never knows.
Roy Pichardo - April, 1, 2007 - 10:44
Keep up the good work. These other carriers simply need to follow FCC rules ®ulations and compete in an honest way by providing a better service. I believe that if you pay for the Sprint, ATT or any other competitor Confernce Service you can use your cell phone.
Tim Wright - April, 1, 2007 - 10:24
I appreciate the update in the FreeConferenceCall newsletter. I take issue with the implication that it affects cell phone users only. Not so. I have had several of my participants, using landlines, unable to access your services.
Steve Harris - April, 1, 2007 - 09:59
Bob Paxton says it all below. This abridgement of our communication rights must be publically exposed and brought to the attention of congress & regulatory bodies. Be glad to join in any customer petition.
R Jackson - April, 1, 2007 - 09:29
If I'm paying Cingular every month, I should be able to use my phone to call any number I want. And if that number is in the continental United States, I should be able to use the Free Long Distance I pay Cingular for to place that call. Like the Cingular ad says, "they're your minutes. Use 'em".
Robyn Schofield - April, 1, 2007 - 08:35
After speeking with you last week I contacted my local office with my cingular cell phone. The letter they responed with is as follows: Cingular no longer permits calls to confrence services. "We apologize for any inconvenience or difficulties this has caused you." "These so-called free services are not free- they result in Cingular being charged excessive rates for every minute of their use." "We are blocking certain classes of numbers, including 976 and 900 numbers as well as some chat numbers and conferencing services, because if we didn't do this, there could be a dramatic increase in our costs, which could affect our ability to provide our services to you and other customers at areasonable rates." "Our service agreement states that we can in our discretion block certain numbers." "Again we apologize for and inconvenience. You are a valued customer of Cingular and hope you realize we are trying to protect the services we offer you." ....so on and so on. This is unreal. If I cancel this number and get another one. Will it not work as well? Or do I need to change cell phone carriers? Robyn
Sue E. Strauss - April, 1, 2007 - 08:17
Thanks for the info. I have been using Sprint prepaid long distance and have been denied access several times. I need your service.
Richard Scully - April, 1, 2007 - 04:29
For fun I went into a Cingular store today in Reno Nevada and asked them if I bought their service could I call any phone number. They quickly said yes. Glad to know that since I am already a customer of theirs. I would imagine if they block me I would have recoarse. Thank you for your excellent system... it has truly had impact on growing EcTownUSA.Com so I can afford to pay my AT&T bills!
Prayer Bunch - April, 1, 2007 - 02:16
you guys hang in there, because this is a service that is helpful to MANY people. thank you

The link off your page to contact the FCC http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cib/fcc475.cfm keeps coming up "page cannot be displayed". Is there a problem with your link or the page it is linked to?
Daisy Corbett - March, 31, 2007 - 06:59
I have already filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Raleigh, NC on3/15/07.
Ravindra Deo - March, 31, 2007 - 06:51
I have been using your service and think it is excellent. I think if AT&T/Cingular are doing this, they should be sued. I have been using T-Mobile to access your service, and it works great.
P D - March, 31, 2007 - 06:28
I have tried to connect using my landline over the past month or so and have been unable to. My landline carrier is AT&T. However, I am able to connect via cellphone, through Verizon.
M Franco - March, 31, 2007 - 04:12
We have been using your service for the past few months without any problems. We are very satisfied with your service and we wish you further success.
Kevin Young - March, 31, 2007 - 03:57
As one of the originating founders of the Pre-Paid phone card industry in the late 80's and early 90's, I can relate to the strong arm of these big telephony carriers. We knew right away that we would be taking money out of their deep pockets and that it would only be a matter of time before they would try to stop us. Well, they did try to stop us and cut some of our services off but we prevailed in the long run but had to spend a lot of $$ and a lot of time to fight their assertions. The FCC was slow to react but as we found out it really comes down to customers and their voices. Blogs such as this can help bring many voices to the center. Good luck FreeConferenceCall.com!
D. Becket - March, 31, 2007 - 01:55
I have Qwest at home and cannot get through to the conference call number. It says that all lines are busy. I have called Qwest and they say that the lines in the other area may be down. I would love a fix to this problem so I can get on with my business!
Larry Haines - March, 31, 2007 - 11:50
Sprint would not connect me to my business call using your service. Cost me money and time as well as inconvenienced 6 people's schedule. SPRINT, where can I send my invoice for lost time?
Mary LaMont - March, 31, 2007 - 11:41
I filed a complaint with FCC. Got a call back from AT&T saying freeconferencecall.com was illegally connecting with rural carriers to get AT&T to pay you for conference calls. I told him it didn't make sense. Called back & left a message to remind him that each of my callers were paying their individual carriers to make the call connection but never heard back from him again.
Julie - March, 31, 2007 - 11:31
I was told a that the reason the blockage was put on my phone because of fraud. I have been use my phone since January 2007 until March 2007 calling with my cell phone to make conference calls. I write the FCC concerning it because this is not honoring the contract that Cingular has with me. It does not matter if the merge are not with any other company the contract should be honor until it is expires. The cell company make plenty of money for the use of the phones. They are not losing anything. We are and now they are control where we call. What next.
Morgan Simon - March, 31, 2007 - 11:18
I just wanted to say that as the director of a non-profit organization on a small budget, free conference call is an invaluable service to us...thank you for your hard work!
Elaine D. Walker - May, 9, 2007 - 02:01
I had 3 unit members last Monday, that were unable to get on our conf. call. I certainly hope you can resolve the problem. Thank you for letting us know.
Bob Coli, MD - May, 9, 2007 - 02:01
The merged Cingular and AT&T are responding to the success of your "disruptive, new-market innovation" which does not entail a technological breakthrough, but packages available technologies in a disruptive business model and beats competitors with speed, responsiveness, convenience and cost. I would review Clayton M. Christensen's 2003 book entitled "The Innovator's Solution", (especially Chapter 5 and Table 5-1 on page 127), to understand why these large established telephone competitors are "instinctively defining your disruption as a threat and focusing on being able to protect their customers and their current business" (pages 112-113). He might be interested in this conflict as an additional real world confirmation of his landmark business innovation theories in action.

Mike Chenery - May, 9, 2007 - 02:13
I was given the reason that you had not paid your bills by Cinqular after they blocked the 0100 numbers. I am using the reservation number 1100 now but it is not as convenient. You clearly upset some people which probably means you're doing a great job!
Nicole Sloane - May, 9, 2007 - 02:12
I am a Cingular user and think it is absolutely ridiculous that they could ban me from calling any number I choose to call. This is ludicrous, and driven by alternative motives to make money. I enjoy your free service and have been promoting it to many new clients in my business. I appreciate what you're offering, and thank you for fighting the battle.
Elizabeth Beech - May, 9, 2007 - 02:12
The first lesson I learned in my business ethics college class was "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". Looks like these companies have forgotten that lesson. I work with an internet based, all volunteer non profit organization. Our members are based all around the world. If we didn't have the use of free conference calls services, we would have a very difficult time getting our work done.

Thank you. We really appreciate the info. from your company. We thought it was un fair since we have un limited use of our cell after certain hours and that was what we do or we also have so many minutes per month that we do not use and we use it for conference call and yet we are blocked by them.
Kym Kennedy - May, 9, 2007 - 02:11
I have a weekly support group that uses your service. It is disturbing that people cannot call in on their cell phones. I wrote to my provider, Sprint and they say that you all charge them exhorbitant fees and that is why they choose to block these calls. How do you make your money?
Kristy Davis - May, 9, 2007 - 02:11

Carol Duchene - May, 9, 2007 - 02:09
If Sprint and ATT do not want their customers to call the conference lines then why do they offer 3-way calling and other services to their customers. If this happened to me, I would certainly change to another carrier. I have heard so many horror stories about both of these companies that I would never have their service even if it was free.

This is totally unfair.....It doesn't cost Cingular a thing.....they simply hate to see someone else benefit financially. There must be legal standing for an arguement.....I wish you the best of luck in the battle as you provide a very valuable service that I use extensively.

Your class action says your records show I have a record and only one is allowed. This is the first opportunity I have taken to complete the info. Someone is dearly mistaken, or playing games. I wish you well in your endeavours.
steve hickok - May, 9, 2007 - 02:08
Don't most of the cell phone companies offer options in thier own plans for 'conference call' services: oh... yes, that is the problem! Greedy. So if they can't compete with your service they use other means.
James Land - May, 9, 2007 - 02:08
I am blocked from using my home phone to call into a number my business partners and I have been using for over a year. Two of my three partners are unable to call from their cell phones. I called the FCC and California PUC and was told by both agencies that the issue was not within their jurisdiction. When I asked the FCC if regulating anti-competative behavior is within their jurisdiction I was told to hold the line. When the representative returned I was asked to call the PUC and take it up with them. Interestingly, the PUC representative asked me if I was recording the call. The connection was punctuated by a repetative series of silent spaces where we were unable to hear each other. I assumed she was recording me. The fact that she suspected I was recording her leads me to believe that someone else was recording the call as I certainly was not. Although I wish I had recorded it now. James Land

Your service has been incredible and I'm sorry that you're currently experiencing this. It's upsetting that "Big Business" often tries to control free enterprise and the truly good companies offering great shared services. Free Conference Call is a truly great service!
Matthew Cragg - May, 9, 2007 - 02:07
I don't currently use AT&T or Cingular and rest assured I won't be unless they change their policy. I believe I should be able to use my phone service to call whomever I want...after all, it's my phone. What if 5-6 people in my family all want to talk together? I'd be using my phone to talk with my family! Sad state of affairs when we're told how to use our phones. I use your services for conference calling every week and it's been valuable for me and my colleagues.
Ed Lowell - May, 9, 2007 - 02:07
Sprint and most of the wireless suppliers provide products with the ability to connect more then one person to a call so there argument that they only provide calls from one person to another is yet another misstatement. How can they block numbers and who decides what numbers are blocked; what a scary idea!
Pissed off in CA - May, 9, 2007 - 02:06
AT&T can go to hell. This is a fantastic service and these old school companies will eventually die a hard death. The hard part for all of us is the wait. I am ready to sign up for cell service from FreeConferenceCall.com - when is that coming?
Phyllis Johnston - May, 9, 2007 - 02:07
Thank you so much for informing me as to what is happening. I pay Sprint every month and I do not feel they should be able to tell me who I talk too.

Great work!! I am happy and pleased with the service that you provide. For too long these 'giants' have bled the poor consumer. You have given us alternatives. Please continue to do the work that you do.

unbelievable! It's like our broadband service telling me I can't use the internet to conduct webinars...I'm sorry you can't send out emails to more than one user at a time either! What happened to service! oh and a shameless plug for our new product www.lyro.com :) we are taking on these "giants" to give users real information without paying for it!

Thanks for the newsletter! It was most helpful. I'm having the same problems with Cingular that everyone else is having.

I am a Cingular customer and I love free conference call! They have not blocked me yet but I am afraid they will if they are doing to others. WHAT ACCTION CAN WE TAKE TO HELP SAVE FREE CONFERENCE CALL???

I've been blocked twice this week from different landlines here in DC. You can add InfoHighway to the list blocking access to the FreeConferenceCall toll number. In both instances, I was able to call in just fine from my Verizon cell phone.

I have appreciated the professionalism of your service. I don't use your service very often so I was not aware of the problem. I will support you in any way. Keep doing what you need to do to keep the service going.
Anita Belanger-Skibbe - May, 9, 2007 - 01:59
Our company has used your service for about 2 years, and lately (more frequently)we have calls that do not go through, or the host waits on hold to find out that the guests are also on hold; however, not connected. Most of the time, a land line is used.

This action is illegal. It would appear that AT&T, Cingular, Sprint and Qwest are picking a fight with the FCC and state utilities commissions. The "new AT&T" would appear to be intent on changing the regulatory climate by brute force rather than dialogue. The fact that they took this action with no prior warning is odd.

Hello! Much to my chagrin, my t-mobile phone is not letting me call in either. I didn't see t-mobile as one of the problem carriers, I know other t-mobile customers who are getting on. What am I doing wrong? What happens is this: I call, a computer voice reads out the last 6 digits of the number and says "please hang up now." That's it. That's all I get. Lame. Thanks so much for your help, this is an awesome service. Krislyn Elliott

I get disconnected most the time after about 30 minutes. This is a neusance.
